At 11:15 on a wet and windy Sunday morning forty members and friends set off from Cheam aboard our Edward Thomas & Son coach to our first stop of the day, lunch at Kennedy's Restaurant in the Fulham Road. The traffic up to Fulham was very heavy but our driver Andrew got us to there in good time to meet Alex, our Blue Badge Guide for the day. After a traditional Fish and Chip lunch we got back on the coach to Southwark Cathedral for Choral Evensong.

The voices of the young choristers were most uplifting and set us up for the rest of the day. Once back on board the coach Alex took us on an magical tour of the Christmas Lights.

It seemed that everywhere we went the shops and hotels were competing to provide the best display, and the street lighting displays were not just on Regent and Oxford Streets but on most of the other major thoroughfares as well. We not only saw the wonderful lights but were kept entertained by Alex's fascinating insights into the many land marks along the way.

Our final stop was an extremely busy Covent Garden where most of us managed to find some sustenance before saying farewell to Alex and heading back home to Cheam. It was a long day but everyone had a great time. Many thanks to driver Andrew and guide Alex.
