April 2026 Ladies Lunch

As is usual in April we were joined by our ladies for lunch in the Harry Colt Room at Cuddington Golf Club. Our Chairman Norman Rodda and his wife Alison welcomed everyone with a glass of prosecco in the bar and wine was served at the table during lunch.

This month's meal was a tasty Lamb Kofte with Diced Sweet Potato and Tabbouleh Salad followed by a Poached Pear with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce.

After lunch we were entertained by Gary Miles with a talk about the history of Punch and Judy.

Mr Punch originated from the Italian Pulcinella and the first record of an English performance was in Covent Garden, noted by Samuel Pepys in his diary in 1662. The story lines have remained relatively consistant over the years although there were a few new additions including a Policeman and the Crocodile
