As is our usual custom in April we were joined by our ladies. We were welcomed by our Chairman Norman Rodda and his wife Alison and had a chat with friends in the bar over a glass of Prosecco before assembling in the Harry Colt Room for our meal.

Our lunch was an excellent French-Trimmed Breast of Chicken stuffed with Spinach & Mascarpone, with Seasonal Vegetables followed by a dessert of Fruit Tartlet with Crème Pâtissière & Raspberry Sorbet.

After lunch we were entertained by local Singer/Songwriter John Clachan.

John described himself as a modern troubadour and his songs were a humorous look back to the sixties and seventies. 'Gourmet Food For Us' reminded of 'dripping' smeared on crusts of bread and the wonders of Spam, Wednesday's fry up and fish fingers on Friday, every Friday! Whether it was 'Moving down the Bus', the Bobby on the Beat, playing Games in the Street, or the saucy Comic Postcards, John brought back plenty of memories and made us all laugh. Thanks John for a most enjoyable after-lunch music sessionand if you want to know more about John and his music I suggest a look at his website https://www.johnclachan.co.uk/
